What do we love about summer? The weather. The food. The relaxed style. When you put these top three together, you get a picture perfect, perfect picnic. We took to the studio to dream of the types of picnics we see our customers creating. And as you can see, our girls are chic and smart and stylish.
Let’s start with a scene out of a Parisian film, our first picnic was a walk in the park… a very luxe walk and a very pretty park. From the baguette to the peonies to the merengue, she is making her way from the farmer’s market to the green grass in style. A dress is of course the ultimate one-and-done piece, so adding accessories like the straw hat and white blanket shawl was easy. Our exclusive chambray maternity dress serves as the perfect canvas, with its clip-dot print. It’s cute; it’s chic; it’s bright without being too bold. It is picnic perfect.
When life hands you lemons, buy fancy lemonade and use the real ones as props. The Rails for A Pea in the Pod button front maternity shirt was a no-brainer. Lemons are the epitome of summer fruit, from their bright shade to tart taste. We paired the top with our DL1961 smart denim maternity jean shorts. The Karlie style is a medium wash with rolled cuffs. Super simple, cute and finished with stretchy side-panels. We ran with the yellow to pick up on the lemon print, added in touches of color with the grapefruit and kept everything else natural and woodsy. This girl sees the bright side to everything. To her, life is the picnic.
Sometimes you need a fresh start, a break from the day. Our last picnic idea encapsulates an artsy air, with lightweight accessories, ripe fruit and style to match. We chose another pair of the DL1961 for A Pea in the Pod maternity jean shorts. This other Karlie style is distressed and features the fray hem and works perfectly with the Splendid maternity shirt. Sun-washed stripes line this lightweight linen blend top. (It comes as a maternity maxi too!) With camera in tow, this is a picnic worth capturing.
We love seeing how our looks come to life, so make sure you tag us as you venture out and about this summer @apeainthepodmaternity #40weeksofchic – we can’t wait to see how you picnic during your pregnancy!
