AN INTRO TO ISABELLA OLIVER

APIP BLOG IsabellaOliver 2018 post v1

Welcome to Isabella Oliver Week at A Pea in the Pod! Some may believe that this brand is a namesake company, but the creator Baukjen De Swaan Arons, is the founder of Isabella Oliver.

Baukjen created her brand out of the desire to be fashionable while pregnant herself. She says, “I simply wanted to wear the kind of clothes I’d choose to wear pre-pregnancy, but back then the words ‘maternity’ and ‘stylish’ didn’t exist in harmony. I felt that designing maternity clothes that are both comfortable and chic should be possible.” It has been 15 years since Dutch-born Baukjen opened the doors to Isabella Oliver, the London-based company that has endeared itself to “close to a million women around the world”.

What makes her maternity collection so unique and coveted for pregnancy and beyond? “Luxe fabrics that fit, flatter and grow as your body does. The kind of pieces you won’t just love now, you’ll also love wearing long after pregnancy too.  Our entire team is based in our London studio. We design, cut and fit every style in-house, meaning each piece is crafted with intricate care and attention. We’re a team that really cares about our work and we wouldn’t settle for anything less than perfect.” They are pretty much royalty in our book, since they have been given The Queen’s Award!

We have been working with Isabella Oliver for almost five years and season over season they have remained one of our top designers. Our customers love the way the dresses hug their new curves and keep them styled for work to weekend. From babymoons, to baby showers, Baukjen’s creations have been helping to dress our pregnant women for all the biggest moments of their pregnancies and then into new motherhood.

Stay social with us all week for more behind-the-scenes, style highlights, and Baukjen’s top picks!
