Today marks the last day and post we will have for our In Real Life Series. To finish off this amazing campaign, we caught up with Jasmine Alston, Philadelphia Photographer and new mom, to discuss how she styles what we consider one of the most important pieces— a great pair of jeans.
“My favorite way to style my jeans is rolled up a bit at the bottom. It gives a slimming effect to the ankles and also provides a subtle reason to showcase my favorite shoes.” Yes… shoes! From sneaks to pumps, jeans are versatile enough to elevate a look or provide that low-key vibe. Jasmine is wearing the AG ankles in a legging silhouette, which is the best alternative to actual leggings. They are a little more structured, more appropriate for casual Friday and yet work beautifully for brunch and an afternoon stroll. By incorporating these into her wardrobe, she knows she always has something to wear.
Jasmine told us that her style tends to be both comfortable and chic, “To me, there doesn’t have to be a line that separates the two. With a few key pieces in my wardrobe, I’ve found a way to still be comfortable without living in sweats!” Since Jasmine is now a new mom to her 3 month old daughter Hendrix, these key pieces still remain in her attire arsenal, giving her that extra style mile from her maternity clothing. We want to thank Jasmine, Lauren, Jill and Priscilla for being real women with real style sense! You showed us how jeans can be worn so differently, yet are the one piece that everyone can agree on. Your style tips have inspired other expecting women to own their denim in their own way. We hope this series has given our readers not only incredible jean options, but confidence to show off their bumps, and that when in doubt… do denim!
