Designing maternity apparel for almost 14 years, Adrienne uses her extensive experience to adapt to the ever changing fashion world. She is a versatile trend expert with broad knowledge and insight to trends, lifestyle and consumer behavior. Inspiration for the brand comes from a contemporary take on the runway mixed with street style, combined with the need to offer the mom-to-be the perfect options throughout her nine month journey. Keeping every pregnant woman feeling feminine and confident as her shape changes is her top priority.

Based out of Philadelphia, Adrienne’s own personal style mixes many elements. Her design sensibilities are rooted in a modern take on the classics and changing street culture. Beyond fashion, Adrienne loves to eat great meals, hike America’s national parks, and explore new countries. She’s constantly influenced by the beauty in the world around her. Recent trips to Korea, Iceland, Morocco and Peru show her love of exotic cultures. As a designer all these passions come together to provide an endless source of inspiration.

By traveling the world to find emerging trends, Shelley Liebsch aims to change the look of maternity style. She clearly remembers that her pregnancy was the least favorite fashion period in her life. She hated not being able to find clothes that made her feel fabulous and she couldn’t wait to get back to her pre-pregnancy shopping destinations. She dreamed of a day when she could elevate maternity wear to the same fashionable expectations that she held for her regular wardrobe. Fast forward 9 years, her boys now 6 and 8, Shelley gets to realize that dream every day by leading the design and buying departments for A Pea in the Pod and making sure that pregnant women everywhere have the opportunity to look amazing.

Shelley brings 20 years of retail experience to her role as the lead merchant for the company. She has concentrated the last 12 months on its aesthetic relaunch—modernizing the entire Pea shopping experience. From more fashionable offerings to how we speak to the customer, Shelley wants to make maternity shopping as exciting as shopping for one’s bridal dress. It is a special time in a woman’s life and she should be excited about dressing her growing bump.

Shelley hails from New England, and has lived in New York City and Philadelphia for the past two decades. A busy working mother, she aims for work-life balance, but in reality, she mostly enjoys her very hectic life one day at a time. She’s now living two of her dreams, being a mom, and a brand lead for Pea, she couldn’t imagine it any other way. She spends most of her weekends at her son’s sports games, but also loves getting away for weekend vacations and shopping excursions in LA, London and Paris. After all these years, she still gets butterflies when walking into her favorite shops on Melrose, in Notting Hill, and in the Marais, never knowing where she might find an item that will inspire a collection down the road.
